ASME Student Design Competition (SDC)
The 2016-2017 ASME Student Design Competition consisted of designing a robot that could perform 5 functions: lift a weight, throw a ball, hit a golf ball, sprint, and climb stairs. I worked as a captain in charge of the "lift" component of the robot and worked with my sub-team to design the mechanism according to the project guidelines. Learning how to communicate with other sub-team members and captains proved to be the most rewarding takeaway from the project.

This project gave me great hands-on manufacturing my freshman year. I used powerdrills, CNC mills, bandsaws, and JB welding to fabricate and assemble the scissor-lift mechanism.
